Journey - Original Artwork
Journey presents a surrealist setting where a man is rowing his boat through a wondrous landscape, surrounded by buildings and stones with strange symbols and runes. A bright heavenly light illuminates the traveller's origin while a stark contrast is made with the vibrant blue light, from behind the walls, of this mysterious sunken building.
The artwork is rich in symbolism and metaphor, which combined paint a simple and powerful story. A glowing the tree behind the walls symbolizes a tree of life, but in a foreign location and with familiar set pieces. The man rowing the boat takes an important position in the foreground as it's key to the story. Although he carries his cross with him, it is clear that this is not necessarily the story of a savior, but just of a soldier, journeying from the light.
This Mixed Media artwork is made using an expert combination of Charcoal, Graphite, Pencil and Pastel; and showcase the artist's skill in each style.
Important:
This original artwork comes in a white-oak style wooden frame. When handling the artwork or removing it from it's frame, please be mindful of the dusty texture of the charcoal. Fixative has been applied to ensure the materials stay adhered and the artwork stays in a near-pristine condition for as long as possible, However, if sudden movements or excessive pressure is applied to the surface of the artwork, the charcoal may smudge or come off.
The artwork was made on a high-quality purpose made paper for Charcoal and Graphite. Any artwork, but more-so those made on paper must be kept away from humidity. Exposing it to the humidity can cause the paper to wrinkle and warp, excessive humidity can also cause mold to develop on the artwork. Art is an investment, be careful when you handle and hang it to ensure it maintains it's value.

Before you can even start thinking about what kind of frame you would like to use to display your new print or artwork, it is important for you to know the dimensions of your new print or artwork. This will make it significantly easier for you to shop for a matching frame.

If you're not using a mat board, we'd suggest choosing using a spacer around the edge of the inner side of the frame. This won't be as important with acrylic art and prints, but it is important for others like art made with graphite or charcoal.
